Soyz Bank (1988) - Five Pounds – Queen Elizabeth II – 2016

THE ARTIST French visual artist, SOYZ BANK develops a universe where technical innovation meets artistic creation. His work rests on an original approach that transforms flat supports into true three-dimensional sculptures, giving birth to unique works. His creative process draws inspiration from everyday objects often forgotten or considered ordinary: wine labels, comic book covers, newspapers, banknotes, packaging and many other elements become the raw material of his imagination. Through his exclusive concept “Reality Concept”, SOYZ BANK literally pulls these supports from their surface to offer them a new dimension. This artistic signature has allowed him to present his creations to collectors and at exhibitions around the world. His work revolves around two major collections. The first honors the world of luxury and the art of living. It revisits iconic symbols such as fine wines, champagnes, cigars, banknotes, as well as other prestigious icons. The early creations of this series also included stamps and various everyday objects, reinterpreted in an unprecedented sculptural form. The second collection is devoted to childhood memories. It brings to life characters, comics, cartoons and worlds that have marked several generations, giving them a new presence through relief. Each creation combines sculpture and digital printing according to a process developed by the artist, making every work a unique creation.
