Spanish walnut lyre-leg refectory table. Spanish School. 17th century.

Descriptio Carved walnut wood. Dimensions: 80 x 178 x 65 cm. 17th-century Spanish refectory table with a lyre-leg design, characterized by its curved side supports joined by jambs and cross-shaped iron fittings. The wide, rectangular tabletop, with balanced proportions, was designed for use in collective settings. The solidity of the structure reflects the Castilian Baroque tradition, where the lyre-leg table lent a distinctive and elegant air to functional pieces intended for convents or noble dining rooms. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
