STIG LINDBERG for Gustavsberg, Sweden, a rectangular ceramic slab shaped vase from the “Carnival” series, hand painted with a stylised representation of a traditional Nordic fishing family wedding party with the bride’s party arriving by boat attended by her page and bridesmaid and accompanied by a flock of doves representing love and devotion. The figure of Eros with his bow and arrow appears on the reverse side of the vase. There are fantastic fish in the design. The Carnival series were designed in the 1957/58 and produced up to 1962. Signed on the base with the hand painted symbol for the painter Giovanni Pugno and the Gustavsberg factory mark of a hand on a G, height 20.5 cm
