Stool - Oak - Piano stool or kaptafel stool.

Rare Haagse School Art Deco piano stool or dressing table stool. The Haagse School design movement is characterized by its clean, tight forms. Straight and cubist shapes are important recurring elements. In this stool those straight and cubist lines are echoed in the clean oak slats, the black block feet under the legs, and the applied warm slats on both sides. The wood shows a few small areas of light damage and a single stain. The seat was reupholstered in the eighties, is removable and can be reupholstered again easily if desired. Inside the seat there are springs that creak slightly when you sit on it, and a few light stains. Everything as much as possible shown in the photos.
