Studio à la part - Side table - ability to bear the burden - Oak

Side table "Draagkracht" The side table is designed from one simple idea: nobody should have to stand alone. The four individual legs together support a round top. Each leg has its own place, shape, and wood grain, but only when the parts come together does a sturdy and usable whole emerge. This makes the design a symbol of what people can achieve when they are given space, guidance, and the confidence to participate. The round form has no beginning, no end, and no main position. Everyone takes an equal place within the same circle. The solid oak embodies growth and resilience: a natural material that takes time to become strong, and in which every pattern tells its own story. Draagkracht is designed by Studio à la part and, under professional supervision, handcrafted by makers who are building their place within society and the labor market. The piece is not made out of pity, but out of talent, collaboration, and the belief that good craftsmanship can emerge when people get a fair chance. The net proceeds from this auction will be used for new material. Thus, every sold stool literally carries weight for a subsequent project and gives a new maker the opportunity to gain experience, confidence, and craftsmanship.
