SWEDEN. Penny, ND (995-1022). Sigtuna Mint. Olof Skötkonung. NGC EF Details--Peck Marked. Llt-7; SMH-20; Malmer-4.13.51; Delzanno-16; Bruun-11146. Weight: 1.44 gms. Rare and highly interesting type, where the name of the moneyer in the reverse has been replaced by the Christian, Latin phrase 'In Nomine Domine', here spelled 'IN NOMINE DNIMC'. Crimped, double-struck on the obverse and with a daylight crack. While many types of Olof Skötkonung carries the cross and the letters CRVX in the cross angles, the specific use of a Christian, Latin phrase surely makes this the earliest Swedish, Christian artifact obtainable.
