Alla auktioner / Mynt & Sedlar / (t) CHINA. Hupeh. Tael, Year 30 (1904). Wuchang Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu).
Impressively Detailed Small Characters Hupeh Tael (t) CHINA. Hupeh. Tael, Year 30 (1904). Wuchang Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, EF Details. L&M-180; K-933; KM-Y-128.2; WS-0878. Small characters variety. The RARE and consistently demanded stalwart of the Hupeh series, Taels such as this are exceedingly popular no matter any encountered faults. Close inspection of the open fields reveals a prior cleaning, though this is somewhat masked by deep steel to jet tone on the side bearing the motif. Actual evidence of circulation is limited to the uppermost portions of the struck elements, and these noticed faults should not be too much of a detraction for any connoisseur seeking a more affordable representative. Estimate: $15,000 - $30,000. Provenance: From the Yang Ai Hao Collection. To view all items from the Yang Ai Hao Collection, click here.
