Alla auktioner / Mynt & Sedlar / (t) CHINA. Kirin. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), CD (1901). Kirin Mint.
(t) CHINA. Kirin. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), CD (1901). Kirin Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). NGC EF-40. L&M-536; K-423; KM-Y-183a.1; WS-0430. Variety with regular "S", dot in left of Manchu character. It appears that the "I" of PROVINCE is over a "C" with evidence of a crescent just to the left. An interesting variety that the cataloger was unaware of and does not appear to be published in the specialized work by Wang Chunli "Illustrated catalog of China's Jilin province silver coins". Deep tone in the peripheries and amongst the devices of the obverse while the reverse has more of an even tone throughout. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Provenance: From the Robin C S Cheng (鄭鎮新) Collection. To view all items from the Robin C S Cheng (鄭鎮新) Collection, click here. Click here for certification details from NGC. (t) This lot was manufactured in China (including Hong Kong), Russia or Republic of Belarus and was sourced from outside the United States for this auction after tariffs were enacted by the United States.
