Gorgeous Red Train 50 Yuan in 63-EPQ! (t) CHINA--PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC. People's Bank of China. 50 Yuan, 1949. P-827a. S/M#C282. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ. Red Train. An absolutely superb example of this semi key type. This is a scarce type, often found in VF to EF grades, and becomes exponentially rarer at higher AUNC grades. To obtain a 63-EPQ example is a tremendous feat. Tied with five other notes in 63-EPQ and surpassed in grade by only twelve; of those, seven are in 64-EPQ, and one is in 65-EPQ, which means only eight other 'EPQ' notes are graded higher. Taking into account that the differences between a 63-EPQ, 64-EPQ and 65-EPQ mainly lie in the centering, and this is often subjective, it would not be a gross overstatement to say that this note is among the finest extant. As such, this note will be closely followed by first series collectors at the highest level and is worthy of a premium bid.
