Splendid and imposing decorative textile tapestry woven on a loom (Jacquard/Gobelins machine-made technique), complete with a linear frame in golden-brown wood. The piece depicts a rich and elegant gallant pastoral scene in the 18th-century Rococo style, inspired by the famous paintings of François Boucher and Jean-Honoré Fragonard: On the left: A young suitor approaches a maiden seated by an architectural decorative element, while a boy watches them curiously from behind a tree. In the center: A flock of sheep grazing near a watercourse with a pastoral village backdrop and classical architectures. On the right: A group of figures in period dress, including a musician playing the bagpipe, accompanied by a shepherd’s dog. The rendering of colors and textile details is well preserved, making it ideal for decorating parlors, period entrances, or spaces with a classical/antique taste.
