The three-dimensional dial is spread over multiple levels and the minute hand is positioned between the various levels of the dial. On the right of the dial there is a small "Mach" scale with "Mach 23" as the last value on the scale which is one of the maximum speeds recorded by the Shuttle upon returning from space missions.
