Thai Walking Buddha - Phra Pang Lila (Sukhothai style) - Bronze

A very elegant and graceful antique/vintage bronze statue of a Walking Buddha (Phra Pang Lila). The statue is expertly cast in the classical Thai Sukhothai style, renowned worldwide for its slender, flowing lines and almost weightless appearance. The Buddha is depicted in a forward, graceful walking motion, with the left hand forming the Vitarka Mudra (the gesture of teaching, discussion, and intellectual argument). The right hand hangs relaxed along the body. The figure wears a flowing monastic robe that elegantly follows the contours of the body. The statue stands on a beautifully detailed, round lotus throne. The object is in excellent, undamaged condition with a beautiful, even bronze-brown patina. The underside of the base is traditionally hollow and open, with the authentic casting marks clearly visible. Originating from a private Dutch collection. - Dimensions (cm): Height: 33 cm Width: 10 cm Depth: 10 cm - Weight (g): 1500 g - Shipping method: The object is shipped in a highly professional, shock-resistant and careful manner in a sturdy transport box.
