Themed collection - Opera libretti from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.

Wide Collection of 60 Historical Opera Libretti - Ricordi Editions and others (volumes, late 19th / early 20th century) This is a rich and varied collection that traverses the great repertoire of Italian and international lyric theatre. The collection includes the masterpieces of the most famous composers, with a strong predominance of 19th-century and early 20th-century opera repertoire. Among the titles present stand out: Giuseppe Verdi: Aida, Il Trovatore, Nabucco, La Traviata, Don Carlo, Simon Boccanegra, I Due Foscari. Giacomo Puccini: La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, La Fanciulla del West, Turandot. Vincenzo Bellini & Gaetano Donizetti: Norma, La Sonnambula, Il Pirata, L'Elisir d'Amore, Lucia di Lammermoor, Lucrezia Borgia. Gioachino Rossini: Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La Gazza Ladra, Mosè, L'Italiana in Algeri. Other great Masters: there are also works by Wagner, Mascagni (Cavalleria Rusticana), Gounod (Faust), Berlioz (La Damnation de Faust), Cilea (Adriana Lecouvreur) and Boito (Mephistopheles). The lot is enhanced by the substantial presence of volumes from the historic Edizioni Ricordi, a reference point for theatrical music publishing. Editions from other well-known houses of the era are also present, such as the popular editions A. Barion (visible on Norma and La Sonnambula) and Casa Editrice Madella (visible on La Traviata). Very good condition. The volumes show the classic signs of the passage of time that certify their theatrical life. A natural and fascinating yellowing/browning of the pages, small creases are noted. The format is the classic pocket-size for the hall. The attached photographs should be considered an integral part of the description and show in detail the conservation status of the individual volumes.
