At first it was the unique colors of the landscape that fascinated me: the intense blue of the sky the warm ochre and rust tones of the fields and the bright path winding through the landscape. But as I painted the landscape increasingly became a memory. For me the English landscape is closely linked to my childhood—to paths fields hedgerows and that special light.
