Trilobite - Fossilised animal - hollardops mesocristata - 6.5 cm

Beautiful enrolled specimen of hollardops mesocristata trilobite preserved on its original limestone matrix. This extinct marine arthropod lived during the Devonian Period, approximately 419–359 million years ago, when vast shallow seas covered large portions of the Earth. The trilobite displays excellent three-dimensional preservation, with clearly visible segmentation of the thorax, a well-defined cephalon, and the characteristic long genal spines that enhance its aesthetic appeal. The dark fossil contrasts attractively against the natural grey matrix, creating an impressive display piece. The specimen has been carefully prepared to reveal fine anatomical details while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding rock. Trilobites are among the most iconic fossils and are highly sought after by collectors due to their scientific significance and remarkable diversity. This hollardops mesocristata specimen represents an outstanding addition to any fossil collection, cabinet of curiosities, educational display, or palaeontological exhibit. A striking and visually appealing fossil that offers a fascinating glimpse into marine life that existed hundreds of millions of years before the age of dinosaurs.
