Uncut Pair. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Milwaukee County Bank. 1862 $5-$10.

Uncut Pair. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Milwaukee County Bank. 1862 $5-$10. PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 EPQ. Remainders. No. 6699. Plate A. Nothing short of an improbable survivor that should have been destroyed during the 1860s. This lot offers bidders the chance to contest an uncut pair of Remainders on the Milwaukee County Bank that offer distinct compositions which collectively speak to the prowess of the American Bank Note Company during the 1860s. Here one may observe rich color and impeccable detail while the $10 offers a lovely vignette that depicts a well-dressed crowd looking upon Niagara Falls from New York. Yet this lot is nonetheless an opportunity to be had at our present estimate considering an auction realization from 2016 where a lightly handled sheet with a comment for "Mounting Remnants on Back" realized approximately $2,115 once bidding had concluded. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Click here for certification details from PMG.
