Urso - Fountain pen The Two Empires in sterling silver...

Fountain pen in solid silver with lapis lazuli colored enamels. The bas-relief engravings by skilled goldsmith artisans depict the Dragon and the Eagle of the two empires, the symbols of the Roman Empire and the Chinese Empire. These two empires controlled four million square kilometers, with imposing military apparatus. China was called "Tianxia", -everything under heaven- in the sense that outside the Chinese Empire there was no civilization. In the seal of Frederick Barbarossa it reads "Roma Caput Mundi Regit Orbis Freno Rutundi". The powers of the two empires were not only political and military but also cultural, in the broadest sense of the term. The meeting between these two vastly different civilizations has long been fantasized about, but the two Empires never met. The lapis blue enamels are hand-painted entirely by skilled enamellers. The clip depicts a sword, a symbol of military power.. The pen comes with a lacquered wooden box and a 24-month warranty certificate.
