Val Saint Lambert – “Victoria” – Pair of Art Deco Candlesticks – Luxval Collection – Rosaline Pink Demi-Crystal – 1935 No Reserve Price An elegant pair of Art Deco candlesticks in beautiful rosaline pink demi-crystal, produced by the renowned Belgian manufacturer Val Saint Lambert as part of its celebrated Luxval collection in the 1930s. The model, named “Victoria”, features a striking architectural silhouette with flared bases, geometric relief decoration and distinctive symmetrical handles. The design perfectly captures the elegance and modernist spirit of the Art Deco period. Particularly charming is the delicate rosaline pink colour, which reveals beautiful shades of blush pink, peach and soft rose as light passes through the transparent glass, highlighting its sculptural details. The Victoria model is documented in the original Val Saint Lambert Luxval catalogue of 1935, under the section Moulures Fantaisies. A reproduction of the original catalogue illustration is included among the photographs, confirming the authenticity of the design. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, remarkably well preserved, with an almost new appearance. The candlesticks show very little evidence of use and may never have been used. Both decorative and functional, this beautiful pair would make a charming addition to a dining table or a contemporary minimalist interior. Also a wonderful gift for lovers of Art Deco and vintage glass. Val Saint Lambert, nestled in Seraing near Liège, Belgium, is a beacon of crystal craftsmanship with a legacy spanning nearly two centuries. Established in 1826 by chemist François Kemlin and engineer Auguste Lelièvre, the company transformed the remnants of the Val-Saint-Lambert Abbey into a thriving glassworks. The 19th century marked a period of significant growth for Val Saint Lambert. By the early 1900s, the company employed over 5,000 workers, producing 120,000 pieces of glass daily. Their creations, renowned for exceptional quality and intricate designs, found admirers worldwide, including in Tsarist Russia and North America. A testament to their artistry is the “Vase of the Nine Provinces,” a monumental piece over 2 meters tall and weighing 200 kilograms, crafted for the 1894 World Exhibition in Antwerp. The 20th century brought challenges, including the impacts of two World Wars and economic downturns. Despite these obstacles, Val Saint Lambert’s resilience ensured the preservation of its artisanal heritage. Today, the company seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, producing exquisite crystal pieces that cater to modern aesthetics. Val Saint Lambert stands as a symbol of Belgian craftsmanship, where each piece reflects a harmonious blend of history, artistry, and innovation. Some bubbles are normal in items made of pressed glass. Will be well packaged, protected and insured
