Val Saint Lambert “Valambert” Bicolour Crystal Covered Vanity Jar – Belle Époque, Art Nouveau, 1908 No Reserve Price An elegant antique covered vanity jar by Val Saint Lambert, belonging to the celebrated “Valambert” garniture de toilette collection, first documented in the 1908 catalogue and later incorporated into the Luxval range. Created during the Belle Époque, the model reflects the refined Art Nouveau aesthetic, with its organic, petal-like decoration and beautifully balanced proportions. Made in two-colour overlay crystal, combining clear crystal with a warm amber-yellow layer, carefully cut to reveal the contrasting colour beneath. The geometric decoration creates a beautiful interplay of light and transparency, while the original fitted lid, crowned with a delicately faceted crystal finial, completes the elegant design. Originally intended for an elegant dressing table, the jar could be used to store jewellery, small personal accessories, or other precious objects. Today, it remains a charming decorative piece, equally suited to a contemporary interior. The jar is preserved in very good antique condition and bears the original Val Saint Lambert maker’s mark, visible in the photographs. There is one extremely tiny chip on the corner of a facet, also documented in the photos. This minor imperfection is virtually invisible to the naked eye and can only be noticed upon very close inspection. It is entirely consistent with the age of an object that has survived for more than a century and does not detract from its beauty or decorative appeal.
