Val Saint Lambert - René Delvenne - Vase - Height: 33 cm - Crystal

Large Sculptural Vase "Vesta" — Val Saint Lambert, c. 1967–1969, 33 cm 1. Exclusivity and Heritage Value of the Set This vase constitutes an outstanding exponent of European organic design and glass sculpture from the second half of the 20th century. Originally designed by René Delvenne and integrated into the official catalogues of the prestigious Belgian glassware Val Saint Lambert under the model denomination "Vesta", the piece stands out for its imposing large-format vertical stature (33 cm) and its fluid lines in the shape of a double wing with six asymmetric peaks. Its extraordinary collectible value lies in the perfect preservation of its original paper adhesive label with the carmine wax-like perimeter border. Being a highly volatile element that was usually lost during daily cleaning, the permanence of this factory stamp exponentially increases the value of the piece in the international design market. 2. Technical Attribution and Materials • Manufactory: Val Saint Lambert. • Origin: Seraing / Liege, Belgium. • Typology and Technique: High-density lead crystal, mouth-blown and hand-worked in freeform. It employs the refined polychrome encased or submerged core technique (Sommerso / Overlay), concentrating a deep and clean amethyst tone in the inner receptacle. This color core smoothly fades towards the thick outer walls and the extensions of the completely clear crystal peaks, which function as optical refraction prisms under natural sunlight. 3. Disposition of Marks and Authenticity • Frontal Certification: Original circular paper label with the geometric eight-pointed star and the legend "Val St. Lambert - Belgium". • Analysis of the Base: The reverse of the solid base features the pontil area perfectly faceted and fire-polished. It shows a smooth surface with no visible engraved signature, a technical circumstance fully documented and institutionalized in the firm's pieces from the late 1960s destined for international export, which were factory-protected and authenticated exclusively by their adhesive stamp. 4. Detailed Inventory and Characteristics • Item: Organic Centerpiece Vase with 6 Asymmetric Peaks. • Color: Translucent amethyst over clear crystal. • Finish: Mouth-blown, cut, air-stretched, and hand-polished. 5. DIMENSIONS: o Item: Large Organic Centerpiece Vase with 6 Asymmetric Peaks. o Real Height: 33 cm (Large-format from the catalogue series). o Rim Dimensions (Length x Width): 30 cm x 12.5 cm. o Base Diameter: 8.5 cm. 6. Condition Report and Visual Presence The vase is in an exceptional state of conservation (excellent vintage condition). The six stylized peaks crowning the "Vesta" model are structurally flawless, completely free of chips, internal bruising, or surface friction micro-mellas (fleabites). The heavy crystal base exhibits minimal historical shelf wear on its supporting ring, entirely consistent with its age. The glass mass enjoys absolute clarity, without any limescale opacity or internal usage marks. Gathered together, the piece possesses the strength and decorative sobriety of mid-century art glass, being ready for its direct display. 7. Note on Acquisition, Packaging, and Graphic Support * Photographic support: The detailed photographic report forms a binding part of the lot's description, acting as a visual expert record. * Shipment dimensions and weight: The final measurements and weight indicated correspond strictly to the setup of a secure packaging, which is indispensable to guarantee the integrity of this 1960s lead crystal sculptural piece.
