Rare antique album from the 19th century entirely devoted to the castle and historical heritage of Mello, in the Oise. Folio volume containing 12 mounted plates on hinges: * 8 views and architectural studies of Mello, mainly by Victor Petit * 1 color plate according to the bibliography known for this album * 4 plates of fac-similies of ancient manuscript documents * lithographs printed notably by A. Godard Among the subjects depicted are notably: View of the Chateau de Mello Chapel of the Chateau Interior of the church of Mello Details of the tomb placed in the church Architectural elements and decorative objects Fac-similies of historical documents Victor Petit (1817-1874) is known for his numerous lithographed representations of French castles and monuments. In the 19th century he produced several studies devoted to the castle of Mello. The Château de Mello is an important historic complex in the Oise, whose buildings bear witness to several centuries of architecture, from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Old binding in black calfskin half-binding, black covers and marbled paper endleaves. Overall in antique condition with binding wear, corners and edges rubbed, foxing and age spots on some sheets. The lithographs remain legible and present a beautiful decorative and documentary interest. Fully preserved in its original binding and not dismantled.
