A collector's bracelet is always a great pleasure for its wearer. The variety of different pendants can remind you of stages in your own life - or simply bring joy in their witty and interesting diversity. In English-speaking countries, such figurines are known as "lucky charms" and are extremely popular. In Germany, however, bracelets like this one are called "begging bracelets" - perhaps because the wearer, who wants to complete her bracelet, likes to ask for small gifts to go with it. The thirteen small lucky charms in this precious bracelet are of a very different nature. All made of gold and attached to a gold anchor chain, we find a rich variety of motifs. There is a VW Beetle, a globe, a beer stein, a fish, a basket of pearls, a traffic light with colored glass stones, the Eiffel Tower, a bull's head, a fold-out book with the Ten Commandments, a treasure chest with a large pearl, an enameled ladybug, a vintage car and a medal in the shape of a British Sovereign coin with King Edward VII. The bracelet itself is made of 8-karat gold and, like the pendants, dates from around 1960. The piece of jewellery found its way to us here in Berlin.
