Vintage Cuban Link Necklace With 1.40 ct Old European Cut Solitaire

This necklace made of high karat gold features a classic flat plate pattern. In its center, the necklace presents a pendant with a wonderful old European cut diamond. The stone has a weight of about 1.40 carats and is held by a frame of white gold. to the outside, separated by a shadow gap, adjoins a frame of yellow gold. What appears to be so simple and luxurious hides an interesting story, which we learned from the previous owners of the piece of jewellery. The diamond, cut as early as around 1880, once adorned a tie pin that belonged to a member of the well-known porcelain manufacturing family Hutschenreuther. From this estate, the mother of the previous owner acquired the beautiful gemstone and had it set in a ring. This ring was finally reworked in the years around 1990 and became the pendant of our necklace. There the beautiful stone now comes into its own particularly well and can develop its fire optimally. We have had an external appraisal made for the historical and luxurious necklace, which confirms the quality of the diamond.
