A real classic in the field of vintage jewellery is the Entourage ring. It presents us with one of the most effective ways to vividly stage a large coloured stone: Framed in a wreath of white diamonds, which in contrast enhance the effect of a coloured stone. White gold was often used for this purpose in the second half of the 20th century, because it takes a back seat in terms of colour and allows the gemstones to come to the fore. The ring presented here also varies this classic motif. Here, a dark blue sapphire is set in the center of the design. The stone is oval faceted and has a mysterious, almost night-black colour. It is surrounded by an entourage of twelve brilliant cut diamonds, that are, like the sapphire, held by white gold. What makes the ring special is the way this arrangement of gemstones is held over the finger: This is because the ring band is designed as a plain band, and the gemstones seem to virtually float above the finger with some distance between them! This is effective, especially when the ring is worn. An independent certificate has confirmed the quality of the materials used. It is enclosed with the elegant ring.
