Vintage Ring With 10 Carat Blue Sapphires in White Gold, ca. 2000

A total of 95 natural sapphires in a fine, sky-blue colour and wonderful transparency set the face of this ring made from high-carat white gold. The gemstones are round-cut and faceted and set on the dome-shaped ring head in such a way as to create an effectively sparkling dome of light blue reflections. A total of around 10 carats of sapphires have gathered here - they sparkle in a so-called pavée setting, in which the stones are placed very close together so that none of the metal of the background remains visible. The pavée technique is one of the most demanding techniques of the setting trade - and if the surface also has a curvature, the work is all the more difficult, because the gemstones are only held by small grains. This creates the impression of a sparkling dome made only of sky-blue sapphires. The vintage ring, which was probably created in the years of the turn of the millennium, found its way to us in Vienna. It is in very good condition and its beautiful workmanship and the set of fine gemstones make it an instant hit.
