A fascinating vintage book devoted to big game hunting and travel in Central Africa, illustrated with numerous period photographs. H. Mummery”, together with a blind stamp reading: “Kilimanjaro – Corton Road – Lowestoft” This provenance most likely relates to John Herbert Mummery, a fish merchant established in Lowestoft at the time, whose residence was documented under the name “Kilimanjaro” on Corton Road. Condition: Very good overall condition for a book approaching 100 years old. The binding shows some light rubbing and age-related wear, especially to the spine and extremities, but remains solid and attractive. The interior is complete and well preserved, with some foxing consistent with age, but no notable tears or missing pages. The protective box shows some signs of wear but continues to protect the book well. A very attractive copy for collectors of antiquarian books, African exploration, hunting, travel literature or British publishing history.
