Wall decoration - Netherlands - Decorative city of Delft

A beautiful cityscape of Delft, signed by Heesterman. The artwork is neatly framed behind glass and measures 34x138 cm with the frame. The piece is in good condition and is an asset for any collector or enthusiast of historical cityscapes. This framed object is a beautiful reproduction or later print of a historical city profile of Delft. A panoramic view of Delft from the east, complete with iconic monuments such as the Nieuwe Kerk, the Oude Kerk and the city wall with windmills. The signature in the foreground, Heesterman. fec., refers to the well-known Delft artist Jan Heesterman (1890–1947). Because the original profile dates from 1729, this means that Heesterman accurately redrew, etched, or printed the print in the 20th century (likely around the 1920s or 1930s) as a tribute to the historical cityscape. Heesterman was known for capturing many Delft cityscapes and historical motifs. Given the size, the work can only be shipped within Europe.
