Alla auktioner / Möbler, Design & Speglar / Wall shelf unit - Wood - Siena, Tuscany XVIII gold
Ancient decorative element in carved and gilded wood – female mascaron sculpture from Siena, Tuscany, 18th century Extraordinary decorative element of great charm, crafted in finely carved and gilded wood, depicting an elegant female mascaron surrounded by prominent volutes, foliate motifs and decorations reminiscent of the Baroque taste. The composition features a refined central feminine head, characterized by soft features and an elaborate hairstyle, set within a scenographic frame of acanthus leaves and ornamental scrolls. The gilding, today characterized by a splendid patina of time and natural signs of wear, gives the object a remarkable antique charm. The small imperfections, cracks and visible losses are compatible with its age and with the artisanal nature of the work. A piece with great dramatic presence, ideal for: important period residences; collectors of decorative art; restorers and antique dealers; luxury interior design projects; integration into boiserie, antique furniture or historic interiors. An object of rare decorative elegance, capable of becoming a focal point in any prestigious setting. We recommend carefully viewing the photographs, an integral part of the description, to appreciate the condition and the authenticity of the patina.
