Waterman - 42 Safety con rivestimento laminato oro - Fountain pen

Splendid and excellent example of a Waterman's Safety Pen, model 42, dating from the 1920s. The pen features a sumptuous external shell (Continental Overlay) in 18-karat yellow gold filled metal (punzonata 18K.R. on the barrel and on the clip). The body presents a very refined guilloché pattern of geometric waves, while at the top of the cap stands a refined crowned heraldic crest worked in relief and chiselled. The black ebonite end cap bears the original model inscription "42", partially visible but clearly identifiable. The retractable nib is the original Waterman's Ideal in 14-carat gold, with tines perfectly aligned and the classic heart-shaped breather hole. Aesthetic conditions: Excellent for its age. No dents, deep scratches or wear to the gold plating (no brassing). The ebonite preserves an excellent color. The nib is without iridium.
