Waterman - Le Man 200 - Fountain pen

A0000004540 The Waterman Le Man 200 fountain pen is in very good overall condition, standing out for its excellent aesthetic presence and proper functioning. The body and cap, made in high-gloss black lacquer, preserve an elegant and deep appearance, with good uniformity of the finish. There are slight superficial micro-scratches typical of careful use, with no cracks, fractures, or material losses, keeping its structural integrity intact. The gold-plated elements — clip, rings and ends — are in good condition, with present shine and no significant wear. You can observe minimal signs of use on certain areas, appropriate to the piece’s age, but without affecting its overall aesthetics. The 18K solid gold nib is in very good condition, correctly aligned and undistorted. Its crisp engraving “Waterman Ideal Paris 18K 750” remains clear and it presents a clean overall appearance. The feed is in appropriate condition, ensuring proper ink flow. The pen has been serviced and is fully functional and ready to write. The locking mechanism works correctly, with a firm cap fit. Includes the original Waterman case, which shows visible signs of use and exterior wear, such as scuffs on the corners and a deteriorated label, typical of the passage of time. Overall, this is a piece in very good condition, ideal for both everyday use and collection, preserving the classic character and manufacturing quality of the Le Man line. Conservation recommendations For optimum maintenance, it is recommended to use high-quality inks designed for fountain pens, avoid pigmented inks, clean the pen with lukewarm water if it hasn’t been used for a while, dry it completely before storing, and keep it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Always operate the mechanism gently to preserve its mechanics. Happy bidding!
