White Tara - Patinated bronze - Nepal - second half 20th century

epalese bronze of a standing White Tara with in her left hand the stem of the utpala flower as a symbol of spiritual awakening and illuminated wisdom. The goddess herself stands in Buddhism as a symbol of healing, protection and compassion. The bronze is beautifully made in the lost-wax casting method. Only a few bronze makers in Nepal are capable of casting bronzes in this exceptional quality.
