Wil Raymakers - 1 Original background with 3 cells - Boes...

Boes is the brainchild of Thijs Wilms and illustrator Wil Raymakers. This wordless animal comic strip with a cow in the lead role appeared from 1980 in various newspapers. These cartoons gained great notoriety as a daily strip in many Dutch newspapers. Boes could also be found in magazines such as Eppo/Wordt Vervolgd and Suske en Wiske Weekblad, and there were book editions published by Drukwerk and Standaard Uitgeverij. Due to the popularity of the hilarious gags, the strip soon became known outside the Netherlands, to such an extent that animations were also made, produced in 1988 and 1989 by Telescreen/TV Tokyo. This lot contains a beautiful, originally hand-painted background cel of Boes that was used in the animation. Lot consists of; 1) background 2) 3x cel Beautiful scene of Boes. She was once hung in a frame in the office of the production company. Very unique. These backgrounds used in the film are hardly circulating and thus incredibly rare.
