Rocaille-style solid silver teaware 925 by Wilkens & Söhne and Jenaer Glas glasses - Germany - c. 1960 (7 pieces) Magnificent and elegant complete tea service in Louis XV / Rocaille style, dating from the mid-20th century (circa 1960). The set consists of: - 1 squat teapot with wide twisted ribs and raised gadroons. It rests on 4 curved feet adorned with foliate scrolls (old label trace underneath). The contoured handle is equipped with its two original thermal insulating rings (white) intact, allowing safe serving. The hinged lid fits perfectly. The interior is impeccably clean, bright and sound. - 6 cup holders (manchons) in silver-plated metal, featuring superb twisted gadrooned motifs and contoured handles adorned with scrolls. The exterior and interior silvering retains a superb mirror shine. - 6 removable glass goblets of original, stamped “JENAER GLAS SCHOTT MAINZ” on the bottom. Made of fine borosilicate glass highly resistant to thermal shocks, ideal for hot tea. Condition: Superb overall state. The silver is very bright with a lovely sheen. Note a very slight attenuation of the silvering under the far end of the teapot feet due to normal wear, and a few micro-scratches typical of use. The glassware is in perfect condition, clear, without any chips, cracks, or nicks. !!! A dusting will be done but will require more intense cleaning to bring out its natural shine. Weight of the set: 1.106 kilograms Fast and careful shipping !!! Insurance included
