Writing slope - Splendid Writing Desk - Bronze, Wood

Elegant and complete writing set / letter desk in a classic style (late 19th - early 20th century). This compact model is entirely crafted in solid wood of beautiful timber, with a warm natural grain and robust construction. It rests on a moulded rectangular base. In its center, it features a finely chiseled bronze/brass carrying handle, framed by two ink wells (I don’t think they are original) in cut transparent glass with faceted caps. A recessed pocket groove (plumier) is carved into the front and back to hold the pen stands. On the lower part, the base houses a large solid-wood storage drawer with a double metal drop-handled pull. The drawer interior shows light traces of old ink, authentic witnesses to its past use. Note the absence of three supports surrounding the inkwells, of which two are present but need to be re-soldered. I offer you the opportunity to bid on an extremely rare collectible in this condition. Happy bidding to all. As with all my items auctioned on this site, this marvel has undergone no cleaning (just dusting), nor modification since purchase. Look carefully at the photos that are part of the description. Any damage not mentioned in the text but visible in the photos is considered described. No shipping outside the EU; if you are outside the European Union you may bid on one of my lots, but no claims will be possible in case of transport issues. Given the new USA import/export regulations, there will be no shipment to this country. Careful professional shipping, with signature on delivery and insurance.
