Yann Argentin born in 1971 Digital print La cigale represents a woman seated in a tailored suit at the bow of a white boat moored in a rocky cove, a woman in a GUCCI one-piece swimsuit, white turban and black sunglasses, posing with a platter of seafood and a bottle at her side. The strong contrast between the dazzling whites of the boat and the outfit, the ochres of the cliffs, and the deep blue of the water establish an overwhelmingly Mediterranean light; the brushwork is smooth and laid, with fairly sharp flat areas on the skin and the fabric, in a more contemporary and polished vein than the previous urban scenes. Yann Argentin fully aligns himself with the contemporary figuration movement with this impression of great aesthetic finesse.
