Her artistic production draws on the primitive unconscious of childhood, playfulness, and fairy-tale imagery, which reveals itself in a figurative form illuminated by a vibrant color range. Through the act of painting, the artist allows us to relive beloved moments; everyday images can be grasped within a dreamlike universe. Montanari's style is based on a representational fusion of reality and imagination. A realistic precision of contours, a solidity of matter firmly grounded on and around the surface, and an atmosphere projecting our unconscious. Overall, a sense of restlessness and introspection, prompting a search for something beyond the static nature of the figures.
